Here is what I mean by a 5x7 photo cutout - Suppose you have a 4x6 photo of a man standing next to a car and you want a 5x7 cutout of just the man.
The first thing I do is crop the photo so only the man remains and then I enlarge it so the man is as large as I can make him and still print on 5x7 photo paper. Now I have a 5x7 print of just the man. It is this 5x7 print that I cut into a photo sculpture.
The finished cutout of the man will be a little under 7" tall, but of course he won't be anywhere near 5" wide. If there were 3 or 4 men in the picture it wouldn't be 7" tall because the group of men would be more than 5" wide before the tallest was 7" tall.
The size of your photo has nothing to do with the size of the finished cutout as long as it a clear photo. I can make a 4x6 cutout from an 8x10 photo, or an 8x10 cutout from a 4x6 photo, etc. Not all photos are good enough to make a good 8x10 sculpture. If in doubt send me the photo and I'll tell you if it will work.
